BNP Paribas today announced the appointment of Mr. Liu Xin, Steven, as Head of Global Risk Solutions (GRS) in China.
Reporting to Mr. Denis Autier, Global Head of GRS, based in London, Steven will be working closely with Mr. Eric Nicolas, Head of Fixed Income Asia Pacific, and Mr. David Pinkerton, Head of GRS Asia Pacific. Steven will be primarily responsible for developing and maintaining close contact with high level officials within the key regulatory bodies that shape and implement policy for the banking and finance sector in China. He will be overall responsible for the development, growth and ongoing management of the GRS activities in China. To this end, he will seek to identify opportunities where GRS, Fixed Income and other areas of the Bank may deliver “tailor-made” solutions to BNP Paribas clients in China.
Steven will also be available to work with other areas of the Bank to assist them also in their endeavours in China.
Steven has recently completed his research PhD degree at the University of Leeds Business School in the United Kingdom. Prior to his research PhD, Steven worked with China’s State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) as the director of the Investment Division from 1989 to 2001. He was honoured as a Senior Economist by the People’s Bank of China in 1996. With his many years as a policy maker at SAFE, Steven is well equipped in interpreting Chinese policy and regulations for the Chinese financial system. During his stay in London, Steven gained exposure to international banking via experience arranged by the British Council between 2001 and 2002. He is a member of The Academy of International Business and has published extensively in world class journals and books as a co-author with well known British scholars.
