The Banker has released a report rating the “Top 500 Banking Brands” for 2008. BNP Paribas ranks 8th. This yearly report is produced by The Banker with the cooperation of the leading UK brand valuation firm, Brand Finance.
Dave Haigh, CEO of Brand Finance, comments “We typically look at customers, staff, suppliers, and business partners, in addition to financial providers and investors”
The methodology of this rating aims to establish the net present value (NPV) of the trademark and associated intellectual property. The ranking looks at strength, risk and future potential of a brand relative to its competitors.
This final score was obtained after a scrutinised analysis of the brand in relation to each financial product. There, BNP Paribas ranked 3rd in the top 10 “Wholesale banks”, and 4th in the category of “Asset Management”.
