BNP Paribas is pleased to announce the appointment of Doreen Tan and Chelsea Ong as Senior Institutional Relationship Managers (IRM) for South East Asia and Australia. Doreen and Chelsea will both be based in Singapore and report to Vasan Varathan, Head, Hedge Funds & Institutional Relationship Management, Asia Pacific & Japan.

“BNP Paribas has a long standing presence in Asia for over 150 years. The new appointments further strengthen the IRM team and build-out of the Corporate & Investment business as part of the bank’s expansion and development plan in the region. Core to this is the growth of our institutional client business across the capital markets,” commented Henri Foch, Head of Fixed Income, Asia Pacific.

Doreen brings with her close to 15 years of experience in financial institutions, including strong relationship with the senior management of regional accounts. After graduating from London School of Economics, she started her career on the buy side with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in London. Thereafter, she spent her career at JP Morgan, Citi and UBS in different capacities with most of her experience in credit/structured credit sales.

Chelsea has more than 16 years of experience in Financial Institution sales. She has established strong senior relationships with Asset Managers and insurance companies in the region. She started her career on the marketing side with Schroder International Merchant Bank after graduating from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Melbourne. Following that, Chelsea worked at Bear Stearns, Citi and Standard Chartered, including a short stint in BNP Paribas.

Talbot Stark, Global Relationship Manager, said “Doreen and Chelsea will be a great addition to our team as we look to significantly grow our service offerings to the leading Southern Asia Pacific institutional clients.”
