Judy Wei appointed new Managing Director of L’Atelier BNP Paribas in Shanghai

Paris/Shanghai, 10 March 2016L’Atelier BNP Paribas announces the appointment of Judy Wei as new Managing Director of its Asia subsidiary based in Shanghai, as successor to Renaud Edouard-Baraud. She will be reporting to Louis Treussard, CEO and Head of Prospective at L’Atelier BNP Paribas.

Judy Wei, 46, graduated in Computer Science from North China Industry University, Beijing and obtained an MBA from the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia. After working for 12 years at various major Australian banks, she returned to Beijing in 2009 to take up a post as Senior Core Banking Project Manager at China Minsheng Banking. Judy then joined Cap Gemini China as Business Development Manager for the Banking Sector, moving in 2014 to take up an appointment as Head of the Project Management Office (PMO) at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in Shanghai. In 2015 she set up a consulting firm, Shanghai Syslec Technologies. On 1 March 2016, Judy Wei came on board L’Atelier BNP Paribas in Shanghai as Managing Director.

Judy will be supported in her new role by Jean de Chambure, Head of Consulting at the L’Atelier BNP Paribas Asia subsidiary, who has been in post since 1 September 2015.

Jean de Chambure, 42, a graduate in Political Science & Modern History, began his professional life as a journalist. He then joined L’Atelier BNP Paribas in 2000, working as a Net Economist and as Head of Media until 2007. During this time he was co-founder of the L’Atelier Digital podcast on the BFM Business channel and authored a number of well-received reports on the Agriculture, Automotive and Connected Health sectors. In 2007, he moved over to the BNP Paribas Group’s retail banking division in France (FRB), where he became Head of Digital Communication. In 2012, he joined the task force working on the launch of the Group’s European digital bank, Hello bank!
